The National Citizen Service is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 15–17 year olds in England and Northern Ireland, funded largely by money from the UK Government.
Various NCS Teams have been out in their communities country-wide during the summer months learning valuable skills, improving their CVs, meeting new people and giving back to their communities.
Andrew Bridgen MP said “It was a pleasure to visit a team in my constituency North West Leicestershire to see the renovations they are making to the Thringstone Miners Social Centre ahead of their – big reveal - Coffee Morning scheduled this Friday (23rd August) 11am-3pm.
Teams have also been working at the Coalville British Heart Foundation, Coalville Community Centre and Thringstone’s Meadows Care Home.”
A NCS Representative said:
“NCS is a four-phase programme specifically designed to provide you with all sorts of new experiences. Whether you’re a daredevil or creative genius, talkative or more reserved, you’ll be surprised by how much you’re actually capable of, coming away with a host of new skills and bags of confidence. If you want to boost your UCAS statement or CV, meet incredible people, get your voice heard and have a lot of fun while you’re at it, then NCS is for you.”
