Local MP, Andrew Bridgen joined a special cake and craftmaking session at Silver Oaks Residential Care Home in Whitwick to celebrate the home’s third anniversary on March 7th.
As well as cutting the cake, Andrew got the chance to try his hand at making cards.
Owner Mark Booth, said:
“Silver Oaks is a fantastic place, people often look at care homes and wonder what goes on in there, but we are open and want people to come and see exactly what we are about.
“It is so good that Andrew has had the time to come down and see us to celebrate our anniversary, it really adds to the day and makes it extra special to everyone.”
Andrew Bridgen said:
“It has been an interesting visit to celebrate the three year anniversary, I have been here before and it is great to be back.
“A girl born in five years time can expect to live to 100, that is fantastic but also shows how the demand of service like this will increase in the future.
“It is good to see how positive it is here and that we have such good facilities in North West Leicestershire.”
